In October 2020 the Trust was awarded £9,000 from the Highland Council via the Town Centre Fund – a fund which enables local authorities to re-purpose town centres to become more diverse, successful and sustainable.
In 2020 The Portree and Braes Community Trust, with support from the Scottish Land Fund, purchased the site of the then derelict squash courts and overgrown tennis court at the Bayfield area of Portree.

In 2018 The Portree and Braes Community Trust raised funds to purchase mobile skate ramps which have since been situated at the “Red Pitch” at Camanachd Square, Portree.
In 2023 a small group of Portree residents started working with the PBCT to look more closely at the demand for a soft play in the area.
The aim of the Speak up for Gaelic project is to organise events and activities where people feel comfortable speaking Gaelic in everyday settings, regardless of their ability in the language.
